Shopping Bags Short Film
Sheep Films have been commissioned to release one film a week in 2012 on German TV channel Duetsche Welle. The comedy shorts follow Dave Packer as Max.X, a hapless hero coping with the challenges of modern life. He never gives up and always manages to find unique solutions: often amazing, sometimes mad, but always entertaining. Dave sent me his script for 'Shopping Bags' in October last year and I jumped at the chance to direct it, elisting the expertise of Ben James as 1st AD. Initially a lot of brain scratching involved, with this being first film featuring split screen effects and I learnt a lot. Another first was directing a canine cast member which was a lot of fun trying to coax a bark from the quietest dog i've ever met... she was a pro!
