Tunnel 228

We managed to get ourselves tickets to Tunnel 228 seconds before they sold out. I was intrigued to see what a site specific collaboration between Punchdrunk & the Old Vic would be like. Once we entered the space I was surprised to discover it was an exhibition of works from various artists, sewn together with performance elements.   I enjoyed the limited visibility and kept edging towards dark corners to see if there was a hidden space I hadn't seen, arms outstretched and imagining things in the darkness that werent actually there.  The high points for me were in the lighting installations and being caught in during a dramatic change in your environment, and I'm glad I finally discovered the mechanisms that trigger one another around the space.  I recognised a Lightning and Kingly face piece, they had created a huge paper forest which filled one of the atriums, it was breathtaking, and the soundscape was beautifully arranged in the space.
