Peter Gabriel

A couple of days after finishing the Rain Emperor in March 2009 I hopped in the car and headed to Wiltshire to work with Lighting Designer Rob Sinclair on some content for the Peter Gabriel South America tour.  Myself and filmmaker Dave Packer spent a week in an aircraft hanger making video content for five vertical stealth LED screens and one huge mitrix backdrop.  The vertical screens were staggered and the content could be layered, giving Rob many options when mixing the content live. In 2010 Peter Gabriel toured his new album New Blood with a full orchestra and myself, Dave Packer, Stefan Goodchild, Archie Sinclair, Robin Reeder and Sally Mumby Croft joined Rob and George Sinclair at Shepperton Studios to create more content for the show.  We developed some of the content from the previous tour and made plenty of new clips to suit the new design.  Dave and I wandered off to the local quarry to film a desert sunset for Rhythm of the Heat and I managed to adopt some maggots to shoot for Digging which looked amazing  displayed on such a huge scale.  Live footage by video director Blue Leach and live visual designer Philip Haynes was manipulated live and worked into the screens along with our content.   In 2011 Bennycrime went along in my place and made some great new content which involved shooting exploding CD's for the Hammersmith Apollo dates, he and Dave made this video of all the fun I missed.  The Hammersmith Apollo show was filmed live over the course of 2 nights, directed by Blue Leach using 3D cameras, the video has been released on DVD and BluRay.
